You don't choose your family.  They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.

                    Family Based Immigration & Naturalization

Phinney Estate Law works with United State Citizen and Permanent Legal Residents to petition for family based visas for their family (I-130), whether here or abroad, and assist them in adjusting status (I-485) or going through consular processing abroad.  We also help clients to petition for fiancé visas for fiancés abroad (I-129F) and remove conditions for Permanent Legal Residents who received their status through marriage (I-751).  The process of bringing families together is favored under immigration law but the process can be complex and mistakes can cost money and lead to delays and denied applications.  We are experienced in helping families work through the process with a minimum of delay and stress.

We also assist Permanent Legal Residents to naturalize and become United States Citizens (N-400) when they become eligible.  Becoming a United States Citizens can open up options with regard to estate planning and provide more security for their status.  We assist clients with their application, preparing for the civics exam and the naturalization interview.

Phinney Estate law does not work clients in removal or exclusion proceedings, employment based immigration, or asylum applications.  If you need assistance in these areas of law we recommend that you consult with an attorney who focuses their practice on immigration.  Two of our favorite attorneys working in these areas are Ioana Miron and Laura Hofman.  If you need pro bono assistance, we recommend that you contact Northwest Immigrant Rights Project.
